Teacher bailed on NSW sex assault charges

A teacher in NSW's Blue Mountains has been bailed after allegedly indecently assaulting a female student at a high school.

The 49-year-old man was arrested at a Katoomba home on Friday and appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.

He returned to Katoomba Local Court on Wednesday charged with procuring a child for unlawful sexual activity, aggravated indecent assault of a victim under his authority and three counts of aggravated sexual touching.

Police allege the teacher developed a relationship with the student and indecently assaulted and sexually touched her several times from 2015 to 2019.

His bail was continued and the case is scheduled to return to court on November 18.
