Authorities are currently on the hunt for an Iloilo public high school teacher who allegedly installed a spy cam inside a restroom his female students use.

In a report by Bombo Radyo today, PO2 Vivian Alingalan, the Deputy Commander of the Women and Children’s Protection Desk of the Alimodian Municipal Police Station, said that the suspect has stopped going to work at the Sinamay National High School.

On Wednesday, a student found a camera after noticing a blinking light while she was peeing, ABS-CBN News reported. She could have easily missed it too as the camera was apparently only as big as a PHP1 coin and was hidden inside the restroom’s sink.

The suspect probably didn’t think things through, though, as his identity was revealed right away through footage by the very same camera he allegedly violated students with.

According to Bombo Radyo, his face can be seen while setting up the camera.

The teacher also allegedly instructed his students to stand on the toilet bowl while peeing.

Apart from the police, the Department of Education is also investigating the incident, ABS-CBN News said.

A case has not been filed against the teacher yet as authorities are still collecting statements from students but he could face charges for violating the Anti-Voyeurism and Anti-Child Abuse acts. He could also face administrative charges.

Mambobosos (Peeping Toms) have gotten very high-tech. Last month, a Filipino admitted to installing a GoPro action camera inside the shower to film his female roommates.
