Taylor Swift has donated a large sum in effort to lend a hand to those recovering from the impact of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, Feeding America shared a statement on Instagram thanking the star for her generous contribution.

"We're incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift for her generous $5 million donation to Hurricane Helene and Milton relief efforts. This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms," Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, the CEO of Feeding America wrote in a statement.

The statement continued, "Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need."

In the caption section, Feeding American thanked Swift, 34, "for standing with us and the movement to end hunger and helping communities in need in the wake of #HurricaneHelene and #HurricaneMilton. Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead."

They also encouraged readers to "join Taylor if you're able to" and donate.

Per the National Hurricane Center, Milton will bring "life-threatening" hazards to the western coast up and down central and southern Florida, centered on the Tampa Bay area. It was originally a Category 5 hurricane with winds gusting at over 160 mph and has since fluctuated to Category 3.

Hurricane Milton is poised to be the costliest disaster in Florida’s history. That record was only set two years ago with Hurricane Ian and veteran WTVJ meteorologist John Morales said that Milton has already eclipsed Ian in terms of its peak intensity.

On Oct. 5, AP News reported that the death toll from Hurricane Helene reached 227 — and it was unclear how many people were unaccounted for and missing.

This is not the first time Swift steps up to make a donation in time of crisis. In December of last year, the "Down Bad" singer donated $1 million to the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund at the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee after the state experienced deadly tornadoes.

At the time, devastating storms ripped through multiple counties in the area, leaving six people dead, including two children.

Meanwhile, in June, Swift reportedly donated to food banks along her U.K. Eras Tour stops and fed “1,200 people three meals a day, for three days – or 10,800 meals," according to Rachel Biggs, the CEO of Cardiff Foodbank.
