Taxi driver 'kills girlfriend' before 'pushing body around in wheelbarrow'

A taxi driver has been accused of strangling his girlfriend to death before pushing her corpse around town for one hour in a wheelbarrow.

The shocking incident allegedly took place in Yanino-1, an urban settlement in the north-western Russian region of Leningrad Oblast, after taxi driver Filip Grigoryev, 25, reportedly had an argument with his unnamed girlfriend.

Local media reports claim Mr Grigoryev flew into a fit of rage and allegedly strangled his girlfriend to death.

He is then alleged to have put her body into a wheelbarrow before looking for a place to bury the body.

The corpse was allegedly covered from view, which explained why no one stopped him.

CCTV cameras show the taxi driver pushing a wheelbarrow which reportedly contained the victim’s body around the town, with local media saying he was filmed roaming the streets for over an hour.

Reports allege the taxi driver eventually dumped his girlfriend’s corpse in the corridor of the 11th floor of a block of flats on Gollandskaya Street before fleeing.

It is unclear if he has been charged yet.
