A northwest Tasmanian man is facing 79 child-sex-related charges, including allegations he persistently abused children overseas.
The 35-year-old allegedly used social media to solicit children aged under 16 over a near-two-year period from March 2016.
He is charged with having sexual intercourse with a child outside of Australia, as well as a string of offences relating to child abuse material.
Australian Federal Police arrested the man after a joint investigation with Tasmania's Anti Child Exploitation Team.
He has been remanded in custody after briefly appearing in Burnie Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
