Taskmaster stars Greg Davies and Alex Horne have apologised after a censored version of the show aired by accident.

The new series of the game show started on Channel 4 on Thursday and viewers were baffled by the fact that all the swear words were bleeped out.

Several posted messages on Twitter asking what was happening and saying the show just wasn’t the same without someone turning the air blue.

“Stop bleeping swearing on Taskmaster. WE ARE NOT CHILDREN!!!!!” posted one.

Horne, 43, soon waded in to clear up the mystery, explaining that the wrong version of the episode had aired by accident.

“Ah, just come off stage & have been told many times that the wrong versioning Taskmaster was played out,” he wrote on Twitter.

“Really sorry. Bleeped should be on All4. The normal version of this ep will be there soon.

“And normal service resumed next week. Thanks for understanding.”

Davies, 53, also addressed the gaffe.

“So sorry the bleeped version of Taskmaster got accidentally played out tonight but I’m so delighted to see so many people livid about a lack of bad language,” he quipped.

“Normal service resumed next week.”
