Target recalls popular children's toy over choking fears

A popular Target toy has been recalled amid fears it poses a choking risk to small children.

The store issued a recall of the Young Ones Light And Sound Guitar due to a defect, which sees one of the parts possibly “detach with applied force”.

It’s feared the piece is a choking hazard.

“We recommend you stop using the product and return the product to a Target or Target Country store as soon as possible, where our team members will provide you with a full refund,” the notice reads.

“A receipt is not required to obtain a refund.”

The toy guitar was sold between July 2014 until September 2018 at Target and Target Country.

Last month Target also issued a recall of its $10 two-way zip baby overalls over concerns the zipper might break off.

The recall was for all sizes, ranging from new baby to 12-18 months, with the coveralls sold at Target Australia and Target Country stores. It was also available online, and sold between February to June this year.

Target encouraged any customers who purchased the clothes to return them immediately for a refund.
