Target issues recall of snack over fears of glass contamination


Target Australia has issued a recall of a brand of spicy seasoned nuts over fears there may be glass fragments inside

The retailer wrote online that it has decided to carry out a recall of the Modern Gourmet Spicy Beer Nuts 450g with a best before date of June 3 2019, because of a safety issue.

The item was sold nationally at Target Australia stores, including Target Country, between November 17, 2018 and December 27, 2018.

“The recall is due to the potential presence of glass fragments,” the recall notice reads.

“Food products containing Glass Fragments may cause illness/injury if consumed.”

“Do not consume this product.”

Customers who may have the product are being urged to return it to a Target store or Target Country as soon as possible.

A full refund will be provided to customers who return the item. A receipt is not required.
