Three people face a combined 59 charges over alleged gift card fraud totalling more than $1.5 million across Sydney.
Two men, aged 30 and 63, and a 50-year-old woman were arrested at a home in Campsie on Thursday after Strike Force Ambleside was established in 2016 to investigate fraud offences throughout the greater Sydney area.
Police allege a large quantity of cigarettes, alcohol, documents and computers were seized from the property, while a further search of a Petersham storage facility on Friday allegedly uncovered more cigarettes and documents.
The trio face a combined 59 charges of dealing with the proceeds of crime.
Police will allege in court the group was involved in the fraudulent purchase of gift cards online, which were then used to purchase goods to the value of $1.5 million.
The trio were granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on May 1.
