Sydney teacher arrested for sexually touching student

A teacher has been arrested for allegedly sexually touching a teenage girl during class in Sydney’s south west.

The 63-year-old male teacher was arrested at his home in the Southern Highlands on Friday at 8.30am after allegedly touching the 13-year-old victim in December 2019.

Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced their investigation after the reports of a man touching a 13-year-old girl known to him.

Following inquiries and his arrest, the man was taken to Moss Vale Police Station and charged with two counts of intentionally sexually touching a child aged between 10 and 16-years-old.

Police will allege the teacher touched the girl during class at the end of last year.

He has been charged with two counts of sexually touching a child and was refused bail to front Moss Vale Local Court.

Investigations are ongoing.
