An elderly man has been charged over the sexual assault of three young girls in Sydney's southwest, dating back more than 30 years.

NSW Police were told in February two girls - aged seven and 10 - had been sexually assaulted by a man known to them between 1988 and 2018.

Later, a woman told police she had also been indecently assaulted, when she was a teenager, between 1988 and 1992.

A 73-year-old man was arrested in Moorebank last month.

He has since been charged with 11 offences including three counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 10, four counts of producing child abuse material and two counts of indecently assaulting a person under 16.

Police will allege in court the man sexually touched the girls on multiple occasions between 1988 and 2018.

He is due to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Thursday.
