Sydney dad wins lotto same day baby is born

A NSW dad had the “perfect day” on Monday, when he welcomed his first child and won $100,000.

The new dad from Sydney’s St Leonards won $100,000, first prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot, which was drawn on Monday night.

The man said he was “blown away” when he saw he had won last night, adding he had never won anything before.

“It’s magic,” he said.

“We just had a baby yesterday too. We had a baby and a win all in one day. It was an incredible day all round!”

It turns out the man had purchased the tickets because the baby was due and he was “feeling lucky”.

“Turns out we really were [lucky]. It hasn’t sunk in. I just can’t believe it,” he said.

“We haven’t celebrated yet, but having a win and a baby, that’s perfect enough!”

The man said he would use the money to look after his family, and the $100,000 would take “so much pressure” off, especially with everything going on in the world, he said.

“I can’t wait to use this prize to look after our baby and his beautiful mother. We would love to put this prize towards getting a nice apartment.”

The man purchased his ticket through The Lott’s website.

On Monday, another lucky winner from Western Sydney found a lucrative lottery ticket in his car.

“I only checked the ticket this morning. I jumped into my car and saw the ticket there, and I’d completely forgotten about it,” he told The Lott, after he found out he had won $2 million.
