Instagram model shares disturbing images of 'disgusting' Sydney attack

A Sydney man has shared the horrific consequences of a brutal street attack that he said left him lying unconscious after being beaten and abandoned.

Aaron, 33, was walking down Oxford St in Darlinghurst on June 26 when five males approached him before punching him, kicking him and stomping on his head, he claimed.

Surry Hills Police are appealing for information from the public as they continue to investigate the alleged attack which put the victim in hospital.

Aaron said he's now facing substantial medical bills, including a $10,000 dental bill after his teeth were "dislodged" in what he claims was a targeted "hate crime."

The latest post on his Instagram account, which is filled with shirtless shots of the 33-year-old, shows the horrifying extent of his injuries.

"I woke up (in hospital) not knowing where I was, with a broken nose, blood all over me and my eyes swollen shut," he wrote this week, admitting it is "one of the hardest things" he's ever shared online.

"I have a 10 thousand dollar dental bill, am having on going physio/chiro, counselling, dr apps and dentist as a result of being a victim of hate crime. I'm fortunate to be alive."

Desperate plea to stop 'unnecessary violence'

The 33-year-old hopes by sharing images of his bruised and beaten face, along with CCTV footage of the alleged attackers, "others can put a stop to this unnecessary violence".

The significant injuries Aaron sustained included inflammation around his brain and ears, teeth displacement and a broken nose, he revealed.

Photos shared on Instagram show Aaron looking extremely bruised and swollen.

Friend's fight for justice: 'Disgusting'

With ongoing medical treatment required, a GoFundMe has been set up to help cover the costs.

Aaron's friend Alejandro, who set up the fundraiser, said he "sat on this for a bit" but has now decided to "get the justice he deserves after the disgusting attack".

"It is unbelievable and so sad that these acts are still happening; let's show those people that in moments like this, we all come together," he wrote.

"NO ONE SHOULD BE a victim of hate crime against the peaceful and cheerful LGTBQIA+ community. Please help me to share and repost this page so we can put a stop to this awful acts of violence against."

Aaron said it's "taken a lot of energy, building up the strength to post, and pray the public can bring justice in a healthy/moral manner".

As police continue to investigate the attack, they have released CCTV images of the men they believe may be able to assist.

"Police were informed that about 4am (Sunday 26 June 2022), five males attempted to instigate a fight with the victim, the victim attempted to avoid the confrontation and walked away," they wrote alongside CCTV images on Facebook.

"As investigations continue, police are appealing for anyone who may be have witnessed the assault or able to assist in the identification of individuals involved."
