Elderly owner devastated after car stolen with beagle inside

An 85-year-old Victorian man has been left distraught after his car was allegedly stolen with his nine-year-old beagle inside.

The man had reportedly parked his 2005 Suzuki SUV outside his local milkbar in the small sea-side town of Blind Bight on Saturday morning.

Leaving his dog Millie inside the vehicle, he ducked inside to buy a newspaper.

But when the man returned to where he parked the SUV, he discovered both it and his dog were gone.

Two days later, the vehicle was located nearly 60km away from where it was allegedly stolen, in the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Bentleigh East.

However, Millie was not in the vehicle.

The vehicle has been described as gold/fawn in colour and had the registration number TKE773.

Millie is black, brown and white.
