Police in Tasmania are hunting for a knife-carrying man with camouflage paint on his face following the death of another man at a house in rural Reedy Marsh.
Police and emergency services were called to the property on Larcombes Road at about 6pm on Tuesday to find a man deceased.
Two men and a woman are in police custody and assisting with inquiries while another man is being sought for questioning.
"Initial investigations indicate this was an isolated incident between people known to each other and that the offender may have been armed with a bat-type weapon," Tasmanian police said in a statement.
Police have urged anyone seeing a man acting suspiciously in the area to not approach him but to contact police immediately.
"Information received suggests the man may have camouflage paint on his face and may be armed with a knife."
Police were searching the area on Tuesday night with the assistance of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and warned local residents to ensure their properties were secure.
