Surprise Woolies wedding for QLD couple who met outside store

‘Do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?’

It’s not the first thing you expect to overhear while doing your weekly shop at Woolies but that’s exactly what happened when a surprise wedding took place outside a Queensland supermarket.

Rob and Rose Tropper said ‘I do’ in front of the Woolworths store in Brisbane’s Skygate shopping centre after first meeting there three years ago.

Rose, who was working as a cleaner back in 2017, hit it off with taxi driver Rob who used to pop into the centre for a coffee and a chat.

“You just used to check me out every time you went for a coffee break or a toilet break,” the bride joked to her new husband in an interview with Nine News.

Rose had the last laugh, however, after surprising Rob with her wedding plans just half an hour beforehand.

“It was overwhelming but it was a good surprise, good surprise,” Rob said.

The newlyweds are set to start their new life together on the Gold Coast.
