'Surely it could wait': Driver caught out in bizarre act behind the wheel

A man has caught a driver out in a bizarre act behind the wheel.

Terry Doessel was on the way to Midland train station in Perth on Monday when he noticed a driver in a white Toyota RAV4 writing on a piece of paper with a pen while travelling in a 60km/h zone on Morrison Road.

In a video of the incident posted to Facebook, the driver is seen leaning a pad against the steering wheel and writing notes.

“Surely it could wait,” Mr Doessel said on the post.

The video has outraged other motorists, with some calling the act “disgusting”.

“The kind of selfish person who believes they’ve done nothing wrong and that everybody is at fault and also believes that you should mind your own business,” one commented.

Another called on Mr Doessel to show the video to police.

“This behaviour is absolutely disgusting, idiotic, selfish and dangerous,” one commented.

Mr Doessel told The West Australian he often saw people using their mobile phones while driving and wished it was easier to report them.

Yahoo News has contacted WA Police for comment.
