The words midwives want people to stop saying in the delivery room

Queensland midwives are calling for an overhaul of the words and phrases used during childbirth to 'remove the pain' from the delivery room.

Medics have been asked to say, 'you're doing really well', to women pushing a baby out - instead of the old-fashioned term, 'good girl'.

Reviews of research reveal that clear language can reduce the rates of potentially dangerous Caesarean sections, they've explained.
