HEALTH CHECK: Sam gets a mammogram to test for breast cancer

This week on Sunrise our hosts are putting their health under the microscope. They're each having a life-saving medical test for the biggest killers in Australia. This morning, it was Sam's turn!

1 in 8 Aussie women will be diagnosed with breast cancer - that's an average of 44 women a day!

The survival rate for all breast cancers at 5 years in 90%, but the odds are better if it is identified EARLY, which is why women are encouraged to regularly get mammograms from the age of 50, and to be 'breast aware' from the age of 40.
