Sunrise's Kochie reveals sweet detail in daughter Georgie's wedding
Sunrise viewers were worried when host David ‘Kochie’ Koch took leave from the popular morning show, with many fearing that he may be departing for good.
However, Kochie revealed that he was only leaving so he could be part of his youngest daughter Georgie’s wedding. The TV host has now shared some sweet photos and videos from the special day in London.
The proud father walked Georgie down the aisle on the weekend, before giving her away to her partner Alex Merkel.
The Sunrise host has four adult children and eight grandchildren with wife Libby, and Kochie revealed a very sweet detail.

Kochie and Libby’s daughters were all bridesmaids, his granddaughters were given special roles as ‘junior bridesmaids’ and his two-year-old granddaughter was a flower girl.
Posting some photos of the emotional day on Instagram, he gushed over his daughter and new son-in-law, saying: “Congratulations Mr and Mrs Merkel. And welcome to the family Alex, Use and Gerlind. Last of our mob to be married.
“Such a wonderful day. Wedding in Regent’s Park. Fun, emotional, beautiful. All about family.”
It didn’t take long for his celebrity pals to send wishes to Kochie and his family.
“So beautiful!! Huge congratulations Georgie and Alex (and Kochie and Lib!). Looks amazing,” wrote Sunrise co-host Natalie Barr.
The Morning Show co-host Kylie Gillies also said the celebration was “glorious”, while Kochie’s previous Sunrise co-host Melissa Doyle sent her congratulations.
“It was great to have the entire family together,” Kochie spilled to Confidential. “Even though it was our fourth [family] wedding of our youngest daughter Georgie, it was just as beautiful, fun and emotional as the other three.”
