Sunrise host David Koch's hilarious dig at Nat Barr: 'Nailed it'

Sunrise host David ‘Kochie’ Koch has poked fun at his co-host Nat Barr by hilariously recreating one of her videos on Instagram.

Earlier this month, Nat gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into getting her ready to present the breakfast show.

A video posted online featured Nat wearing a black hairdressing cape with bed hair and a makeup-free face, before hitting the camera and revealing her stunning early-morning transformation.

The 54-year-old had her hair and makeup done and wore cream pants with a powder blue blouse accessorised with silver earrings.

“If only it was this quick! We loved this look from yesterday,” the show’s official social media account captioned the video.

Now, Kochie has shared his own pre-show transformation using the exact same ‘Before and after’ audio as Nat.

The clip shows Kochie sitting at the Brekky Central desk with a makeup artist helping to make him TV ready by applying mattifying powder to his face.

The 66-year-old then hits the phone to reveal a somewhat less-dramatic transformation, simply putting on his glasses and giving a wide smile to the camera.

His colleague Edwina Bartholomew, who recently returned to the show after six months of maternity leave, is also seen laughing in the background of the shot.

‘So fierce!’

“@kochie_online here to prove that he too can do a before and after,” the show wrote in the caption alongside the hashtag ‘Nailed it’.

A number of followers then took to the comments to applaud Kochie’s recreation, including Nat Barr herself who left a fire emoji.

“Looking good Kochie,” one fan wrote, while another added, “So fierce!”.

“Love that tie,” a third remarked about his brightly coloured tie, followed by a different user who said he looked “very dapper”.

“All I see is Buster Bluth,” someone else shared, comparing the TV presenter with the popular character from Arrested Development played by Tony Hale.

Kochie’s outrage

The post comes shortly after Kochie was left outraged after learning about a recent rule change for the popular card game UNO, which would allow players to avoid a Draw 2 by using a Skip card.

“Who came up with that change?” he furiously exclaimed. “Who approved it? Did it go to a match review committee or anything like that?”
