US residents taking action against drug smugglers on Mexican border

This is the wild west: A land of drug smugglers, illegal immigrants, gang wars and gun-toting cowboy vigilantes.

Those living on the American side of the US-Mexican border are frightened, forced to arm themselves with firearms as protection against the scores of drug traffickers who use their land as an entry point into the country.

The idea of building a bigger wall to secure the border became a strong selling point in the last US election - and it worked.
