Celebrating the 59th Grammy Awards

The Grammy Awards are back to celebrate the music industry for the 59th year running.

Dolly Parton has taken home her eighth Grammy Award for a remake on her hit ‘Jolene’ in an acapella collaboration with Pentatonix.

The country music queen has been nominated an astounding 47 times in total, and the latest hit has made her the only artist to have appeared in the Top 20 country charts in the ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, ‘00s and ‘10s.

Last year, Sunday Night sat down with Dolly and her Trio counterparts, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris, to discuss the group’s final project.

Linda was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease four years ago and told reporter Steve Pennells the illness has taught her “radical acceptance”.

Dolly said her time in the group was an unforgettable experience.

"I have to honestly say that there are some things in your life that you pick out and think that is one of the greatest things that I was ever a part of," she said.

Trio released their final album, The Complete Trio Collection, in September 2016.

Beyoncé once again led this year’s Grammy Awards with the most nominations for her album Lemonade.

But perhaps more exciting than her nominations is her pregnancy news – she is expecting twins with husband Jay-Z.

In 2011, Molly Meldrum’s exclusive interview with Beyonce went viral after the superstar’s dress folded as she sat down on set.

Pregnant at the time with her daughter, Blue Ivy, the crease of the dress sparked worldwide speculation that her pregnancy was a sham.

But during the interview, Beyonce gushed about her new addition, telling Molly she finally felt it was the right time to start a family.

“My husband and I have been together for 10 years. All of my 20s, since I was 20. We just feel like it's time. I'm very grateful that God has blessed me with this - the biggest gift any human being can have.”

Coldplay missed out on this year’s Grammy for Best Music Video, losing the title to none other than mum-to-be Beyoncé.

The band was nominated for the video behind their song Up&Up, from the album A Head Full of Dreams.

On the release of their previous album, Ghost Stories, lead singer Chris Martin, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer Will Champion and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland told Sunday Night of the creative journey surrounding their music.

"What starts off seeming like a heart break record is not… it's a joyful realization that you can’t escape what life throws at you, so just enjoy it," Chris said.

Guy said the album was revealing and very "truthful" for Chris.

"It was obviously very real and very raw and I felt that he was perhaps exposing himself too much but actually, when you think about it, it’s probably the bravest thing that you can do," he said.

Andrea Bocelli had his first Grammy nomination in 17 years for his album Cinema.

He may have missed out on this year’s accolade, but Andrea remains the biggest-selling singer in the history of classical music.

In 2014, Sunday Night was invited into his private world inside his incredible Tuscan villa.

We were given access to the backstage of Teatro del Silenzio, an intimate open-air concert where Andrea performs every year.

“Everyone has his destiny and my destiny was this,” he told reporter Alex Cullen.

His wife Veronica said Andrea wasn’t the kind of man to surprise her with flowers and diamonds, but once gave her a gift of two parrots.

The pair has a four-year-old girl, and Andrea has two sons from a former marriage.

At the time of the interview, Andrea was the world’s highest paid singer, raking in an incredible $50 million.
