Pete Evans prepares to face his critics

Australia’s most controversial chef Pete Evans opens up on love, life and the critics in a tell-all interview this weekend on Sunday Night.

The My Kitchen Rules judge speaks candidly about a crippling condition he’s faced since childhood and how a chance meeting during the filming of his popular television show five years ago led to a whirlwind romance and marriage.

Pete invited SN into his secluded farm house in northern NSW.

Pete also answers the critics of his paleo lifestyle, which is rich in meat, vegetables and seafood, but bans all grains (bread, rice, pasta), as well as beans, dairy and refined sugar.

In an at times tense interview, reporter Alex Cullen presses Pete on whether he remains true to his paleo diet while tasting the food he judges on MKR.

“When you're testing the food do you spit it out? Because it's not exactly paleo is it?” Alex asks.

“No, of course I don't spit it out,” Pete says. “Are you crazy?”

The MKR judge insists that he never spits out food on the show, even though it isn't part of his paleo lifestyle.

Pete’s claims about the dangers of sunscreen, dairy products and fluoride, have generated headlines and hysteria.

“Let’s just share the truth,” he says.

Pete Evans’ full interview airs this Sunday after My Kitchen Rules on Channel 7.
