Brenda Lin breaks her silence

It was the family massacre that stopped Australia. Five family members bludgeoned and strangled to death with only one survivor.

Brenda Lin was not home on the night of the murders in July, 2009, when her uncle killed her mother and father, her two brothers and her aunty.

On Monday, Robert Xie was sentenced to five consecutive life sentences in prison without the possibility of parole.

In an exclusive Sunday Night investigation, Brenda will finally break her silence.

“I’d give anything to have my family back,” she says in the emotional interview to air February 26.

“He was someone that I trusted as a person who isn’t a murderer and also know what he’s done.”

Xie, 53, still maintains his innocence, despite a NSW Supreme Court jury finding him guilty of murdering the family members in the bedrooms of their northern Sydney home.

His newsagent brother-in-law Min Lin, 45, his wife Lily, 43, the couple's sons Henry, 12, and Terry, 9, and Lily's 39-year-old sister Irene all suffered horrific head injuries when they were attacked with a hammer-like object.

What Brenda knows has been held back from the public. Now, the truth can be told.

All will be revealed in the season premiere of Sunday Night on February 26.
