Beyoncé: Thank you.

MOLLY MELDRUM: As is her husband, Jay Z.

Beyoncé: I'm so happy. I feel...

MOLLY MELDRUM: Look at you. You are smiling. Twitter went nuts. The biggest Twitter ever.

Beyoncé: I heard.

MOLLY MELDRUM: It's true.

Beyoncé: It's crazy. I don't even tweet.

Beyonce's smile says it all.

Beyoncé: Yeah.

MOLLY MELDRUM: Is he an inspiration?

MOLLY MELDRUM: Were you nervous when Destiny's Child finished? It was, "say your name." It was now Beyonce.

Beyoncé: (CHUCKLES) Definitely.

MOLLY MELDRUM: Was that daunting?

Beyoncé: It was. It was nerve-wracking for all of us. It's just when you're used to something, it's hard to grow up sometimes. And we all said, "Well, it's time." You know, we are women, it's time and we all wanted to do different things.

Beyoncé: Tonight, I better sleep like a baby. 'Cause tomorrow, I am Sasha Fierce.

  1. If you like it the you should have put a ring on it.

Beyoncé: I'm a huge fan of dance and I always try to think of a new way to move the body. And I try treat choreography like I do a hit song and I try to think of things that are going to make people wanna dance and move around and dance in the clubs or dance at their school plays or whatever.

  1. Who run the world?

  1. Girls...#

MOLLY MELDRUM: Beyonce finds inspiration in unexpected places like this dance routine from Africa.

Beyoncé: I saw this video clip on YouTube and it looked like Michael Jackson. It looked like stepping, like African, all mixed in. I'd never anything like it.

MAN: Welcome guys.

Beyoncé: We searched everywhere around Mozambique, which sounds crazy, but we found these guys.

Beyoncé: Hi, guys.

Dancer: Hey.

Dancer: Hello.

Beyoncé: Nice to meet you.

Dancer: What's your...

  1. Listen

  1. I am alone at a cross roads...#

MOLLY MELDRUM: You have described yourself as a workaholic.

Beyoncé: A bit, yes.

MOLLY MELDRUM: Not just a bit.

Beyoncé: I am.

MOLLY MELDRUM: Not just a bit, you have said you're a workaholic.

Beyoncé: Yes, I have.

  1. Ava Maria...#

MOLLY MELDRUM: As things got bigger and bigger, did it become too much?
Overwhelming?

Beyoncé: Well, it became a bit overwhelming. It became... I was a bit numb and kind of...lost.

Beyoncé in video: Why did God give me this life? Sometimes it's overwhelming.

Beyoncé: Didn't matter where I was. I was in so many different places that it was like OK, I'm just on the show. I'm performing, I'm back at a hotel. Where am I? What city am I? OK. I'm doing the same thing. It became just a...you know, a ritual. It became, you know, it was...a bit
of emotion in me that was missing. 'Cause the world was so much bigger
than people screaming your name. And that becomes almost like a fake world and you have to make sure you remember that that's all great but that's not who you really are.

Beyoncé in video: I am so grateful. I am alive and I'm.....living a dream. I'm living my dreams. Wow.

(SINGS)

MOLLY MELDRUM: As all her dreams were coming true, Beyonce turned the spotlight off. She took a year off to spend time with herself.

Beyoncé in video: OK. I'm going down the toboggan and I'm driving this thing myself. And this is the Great Wall of China. I've done many things in my life but this is a first. Woo! Woo!

Sings: # If I ain't got nothing, I got you. #

Beyoncé I never even realised I needed a year off. I never realised I don't know how to take a year off. (LAUGHS)

MOLLY MELDRUM: The time away led to big changes.

Beyoncé: I've been managed by my father for a very long time and a real change meant separating from him. It was scary but it empowered me.

Sings: # I was here. #

Beyoncé: Morning.

  1. I lived, I loved

  1. I was here

  1. I did, I've done...#

Beyoncé: Does everybody know who everybody is? Alright, I'm Beyonce and I'm the president.

MOLLY MELDRUM: The reborn Beyonce has taken full control of her empire
and she's more driven than ever.

Sings: # I saw the real you. #

MOLLY MELDRUM: Her new album, '4', more revealing.

  1. Thank God I dodged a bullet...#

MOLLY MELDRUM: But her biggest production, her baby with Jay-Z, is due in February. There is a 'tick tock' in there that is going to change your life.

Beyoncé: Absolutely. Already has changed my life.

MOLLY MELDRUM: Yeah?

Beyoncé: Yes.

MOLLY MELDRUM: Are you ready for that?

Beyoncé: I am.

MOLLY MELDRUM: Yeah?

Beyoncé: Yes. My husband and I have been together for 10 years. 10 years, yeah. All of my 20s, since I was 20. We...just feel like it's time. I'm very grateful that God has blessed me with this - the biggest gift any human being can have. And I think because I've accomplished, you know, a lot of things for myself and I really know who I am. You know, I didn't rush into anything and I feel like it's beyond.....if it's any time, right now is the time. And I'm so happy.

Sings: # I've done everything that I wanted

  1. And it was more than I thought it could be. #

MOLLY MELDRUM: For the little one in there, I just want to give you this.
Be it a boy or a girl.

MOLLY MELDRUM: This is from Australia.

My God. Thank you.

Beyoncé: Oh. This is so adorable.

MOLLY MELDRUM: And there's some little booties by a very famous fashion designer at home called Collette Dinnigan and they're knitted for the little baby like that.

Beyoncé: Thank you. Oh, my God, I have...just spoilt me. This is so nice.
Oh. They're so cute. Thank you so much.

MOLLY MELDRUM: It's a pleasure.

Sings: # I live, I love...#

Beyoncé: It was so nice to see you and talk to you.

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)
