Sunbaking woman stabbed by stranger in horrific beach attack
A 16-year-old boy is being questioned by police over the horrific stabbing of a woman on a Queensland beach.
Police said the 23-year-old was sun baking alone at Blacks Beach in Mackay when she was confronted by a stranger who stabbed her multiple times in her neck and body with a knife just after 12.20pm on Monday.
The unknown male fled through a residential area while the injured woman sought help at a nearby construction site.
The Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed she was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police earlier described the suspect as having long black hair and wearing a white shirt and black shorts.
A 16-year-old boy has since been taken into custody over the incident and is insisting with inquiries.
