'Sums up 2020!': Woolworth's shopper spots 'hilarious' spelling mistake

A Woolworths customer has shared her “hilarious” New Year’s Eve party decoration that although was faulty, she said perfectly summed up 2020.

The customer purchased a banner advertised as spelling out “Let’s Party” from a Woolworths in Frenchs Forest Sydney, however when she got home and started decorating she discovered there had been a spelling error.

“Sums up 2020,” the customer wrote on the Woolworths Facebook page along with an image of the banner that read “Let’s Pet’sy”.

Although the customer found it a novel way to farewell the year, Woolworths quickly apologised for the “disappointing” mishap.

“Not disappointed at all! Find it hilarious,” the customer replied.

“I guess a problem if a whole batch is like that for Woollies, but not a problem to me.”

A Woolworths spokesperson offered the customer a full refund the next time she visited a store and said they would bring it to the attention of the team.

“Please know that on your next visit in-store, you're more than welcome to take your receipt or the packaging back to our service desk and our lovely team will cheerfully provide you with a full refund or replacement.”
