The subtle nod to Diana in the official wedding photographs you might have missed
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle not only paid tribute to Princess Diana during their wedding ceremony, but it appears they also gave a subtle nod to the prince’s late mother in their official photographs.
Following their now iconic carriage ride through the streets of Windsor, the couple, along with their families and their adorable bridesmaids and page boys, took to the green drawing room of Windsor Castle where they were snapped by photographer Alexi Lubomirski.
The royal family can be seen beaming as they smile for the camera on the momentous day, with Kate Middleton, Prince William, Princess Charlotte and Prince George all looking delighted for the newlyweds.
However, it’s the photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle posing with their bridesmaids and page boys that has everyone talking, because it features a piece of furniture used in Prince Harry’s christening snaps.
The 36-year-old prince can be seen looking proud as punch in the photos, while sitting on an ornate green couch, lined with gold trim.

It’s the exact same couch Diana sat on with Prince Harry in her arms when he was christened in 1984.
Prince Harry was just 12-years-old when his much-loved mum tragically died in a car crash in Paris.
Speaking about his mother’s passing in an ITV documentary with his brother, Prince William, last year, Prince Harry said he bottled his emotions up for a long time after she died.
“The first time I cried was at the funeral,” he said.
“And only since then, maybe once more.
“There’s a lot of grief that still needs to be let out.”
The couch wasn’t the only subtle hint to the groom’s late mother on the day.
Meghan Markle accessorised her stunning Givenchy gown with a simple wedding bouquet, made up of Diana’s favourite flowers, forget-me-nots.
The couple also asked guests not to bring any gifts, and instead urged them to donate to the Children’s HIV Association, which was a cause very close to Diana’s heart.
