Struggling ex-porn star mum turns to OnlyFans, becomes millionaire

A mum who was struggling to get by each month after having her first baby has revealed how stripping helped her become a millionaire after starting up an OnlyFans account.

Karmen Karma, 30, from California, US, and her husband Alex had just welcomed their daughter Vienna but were finding it difficult to get by on a single salary.

Although Karmen’s husband was working full time in the Navy while stationed in sunny Hawaii, the new mum often found herself scrimping on food and had to turn to the government’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) scheme for help.

“We had enough to pay the rent and bills but when it came to buying food, there was never much left and I would spend hours trying to calculate everything,” Karmen told Jam Press.

“Every penny was accounted for, I had just enough to eat but obviously with a new baby and breastfeeding I needed nutritious food – and lots of it.

“I felt like I was always hungry."

Sick of struggling to get by each month, Karmen brought up the idea of working in the sex industry again with her husband.

“From the ages of 21 to 25, I had worked as an adult actress but had grown weary of the business," she said.

“There’s a dark side to the world of porn that not many people talk about or maybe experience but leaving that side of my life had been a huge deal for me.

“A company I’d previously worked with offered me a huge deal for a small amount of filming so I decided to go for it.

“The night before filming I lay in bed wide awake, I couldn’t sleep, I was so nervous about going back to that work again.

“I worried what people would think.”

Karmen began doing the occasional shoot to boost the family’s income but the reality of going back to work in porn was having a heavy impact on her mental health.

“I didn’t like being on sets anymore or being away from my baby," she said.

"It really got me down every time I went to shoot a scene.”

The mum carried on shooting the occasional scene so the family could get by but when the pandemic hit and the film industry was shut down, she admits it was almost a relief but again began to worry about her family's finances.

Covid prompts mum to turn to OnlyFans

Karmen turned her attention to OnlyFans, which was something she felt more positive about as it could all be done at home.

The model said: “I started working online and was soon making more money than I ever had in the sex industry.

“As much as it’s about posting sexy content, a lot of it is about interacting with my followers – that’s where I earn most of my money.

“I can earn $300 (A$400) a session sexting with just one guy, which can easily turn into $160,000 a month ($210,000).”

Karmen also shares snaps with her 41,300 followers on Instagram and now pockets an eye-watering $2million (A$2.6million) a year by posting sexy snaps and chatting with people online.

The couple also welcomed another daughter five months ago but it hasn’t stopped Karmen from working hard for her family.

“I’ve already paid for both of my daughters' college funds, they both have savings accounts too that I put everything into," she said.

“I don’t want them to ever have to worry about money.

“I hope my girls will respect the decision I made and the work I do. I hope they’ll be open-minded about it.

She said she would support her daughters if they decided to go into the adult industry as well.
