Strictly's Wynne Evans in tears over Jamie Borthwick's words
The pair have become good friends in the BBC competition
What did you miss?
Wynne Evans was in tears as fellow Strictly star Jamie Borthwick told him they would be friends "for life".
Opera star Evans and his pro partner Katya Jones were eliminated from the BBC ballroom show at the weekend, following the Blackpool Week performances. In Strictly tradition they went on spin-off It Takes Two on the Monday after they were handed their marching orders.
But there was a big surprise for Evans when Borthwick joined him on the sofa to say how much he would miss him.
What, how and why?
Evans and Jones were chatting to host Fleur East about their time on the dance floor together when Borthwick suddenly appeared.
"I just want to say that it has just been the best nine weeks and who would have thought that this man and me would become best mates?" the EastEnders actor said, sitting down next to Evans. "It’s the duo no one knew they needed. It’s just been absolutely brilliant. It’s not going to be the same."
“But,” he went on. “I have got a friend for life.”
Evans looked emotional, as Borthwick said both he and Jones were “amazing”, and dabbed at his eyes after being handed a tissue.

“This is what Strictly is about,” said Jones. “No one is going to remember the scores or the comments we got. It’s the friendships that have been created on this show, genuine, genuine relationships.”
Wynne Evans feels ‘fantastic’ about Strictly journey
Evans was eliminated from the competition after ending up in the dance-off where he went up against Montell Douglas and her professional partner Johannes Radebe. But he said that Blackpool was “a beautiful setting to bow out on”.
“I still feel fantastic about the whole experience, the whole, as we say journey,” he said.
“It’s been incredible from beginning to end and to end in Blackpool was the icing on the cake really, well apart from winning obviously, that would have been a better ending!”
Asked what he would take with him following his time on the show, he said that would be everything that he had learned from dancer Jones.
“She taught me to start believing in myself… she is the most amazing person,” said the star.
Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two at 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.
