Strictly's Wynne Evans reveals challenge during 'strange' performance
The opera star sang as well as danced during his latest performance
What did you miss?
Strictly's Wynne Evans says he had to focus on staying "calm" as he prepared to finish his latest dance with a powerhouse vocal performance.
The opera star and his pro dance partner Katya Jones performed a Rumba on Saturday night's show, dancing to This is My Life by Shirley Bassey in the BBC ballroom programme's first ever Icons Week. At the end of the routine he did something a little different, surprising the audience when he started to sing himself.
However, speaking on Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two on Wednesday 6, November, he shared that it wasn't completely straightforward.
What, how and why?
Evans told host Janette Manrara on the show: "It was a really strange performance because it was one of those, as an opera singer you have to kind of stay in control as much as you can in order to sing, to keep the vocal cords quite relaxed so that they can work.
"In this I was getting too involved sometimes and I was thinking, 'I've just got to keep it calm, because I know I've got to sing at the end.'"
While Evans' dazzling vocal wowed the judges, with Anton Du Beke calling it "the best ending to a number" he had seen, the duo ended up around the middle of the leaderboard after Icons Week, with 30 out of a possible 40 points once the judges had all dished out the scores.

But the star insisted that he was happy with the score, telling Manrara after she asked if it was "gutting" not getting the marks you want: "The score, I was thrilled with the score if I'm honest!"
What else did Wynne Evans say on It Takes Two?
One of the things Evans has been picked up on in the competition so far is his spatial awareness on the dancefloor. However, this weekend he will be dancing an American Smooth, which Manrara noted would give him more freedom and space to move around.
Laughing, the star said he was enjoying the routine so far, which is being set to the track Grace Kelly by Mika. "I love the bits which don't have rules!" he joked. "Half the dance has a rule and then half the dance doesn't really have the rules.
"So I quite like, I am really enjoying the freedom of it."
Turning to his pro dance partner Jones, he quipped: "Although Katya always goes to me, 'Why are you doing it like that? Just get it right.' And I turn to her and I say... I kind of go, 'I am not doing it wrong on purpose!'"
Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two at 6.30pm from Monday to Friday.
