Strictly star Nick Knowles confirms he will dance this weekend following injury
Strictly Come Dancing contestant Nick Knowles has announced he has been given clearance to perform on the show this weekend following an injury which had thrown his dancing ability into doubt.
On Tuesday, Knowles, 62, said in a social media post that medical staff would “make a call on if they think I can continue dancing” and added that he had seen doctors and physios following the injury to his arm and shoulder, which he obtained while changing a flat tyre on the way to a family party at the weekend.
In a video posted to X on Thursday, he said: “So just an update because, look how excited my dance partner is, because we have been given clearance to dance on Saturday. It’s been an interesting couple of days, full of scans and physios and people helping me.
It’s official and I can’t quite believe it but we are dancing on Saturday! 🥳

“Everyone’s been amazing, thank you for all of your messages of support.”
Knowles and his dance partner Luba Mushtuk also said they would be dancing the American smooth to Parklife by Blur on Saturday.
Alongside the video, the DIY SOS star commented: “It’s official and I can’t quite believe it but we are dancing on Saturday.
“Luba is a miracle worker and so patient – we’ve had two days to learn the dance!”
On Monday, he told the BBC Two spin-off show It Takes Two that his injury is “painful” but that he was “hopeful” of dancing again with Mushtuk after their jive to We Built This City by Starship.
Judge Anton Du Beke described his dancing at the weekend as “uplifting” and added he felt “elated” after watching the performance, which scored 18 points.
During the first live show, Knowles, who was celebrating his birthday, was given a birthday cake from professional dancer Carlos Gu who appeared in a hi-vis jacket and builder’s hat.
