Strictly's Jamie Borthwick reveals breathtaking secret
The EastEnders star's mic revealed cheeky remark he made to partner Michelle Tsiakkas during their first dance.
What did you miss?
Strictly Come Dancing contestant Jamie Borthwick tells partner Michelle Tsiakkas she had smelly breath during their first dance on the show.
The EastEnders star and pro dancer Tsiakkas were guests on Strictly: It Takes Two where they revealed they have started a tradition of commenting on each other's breath whenever they dance together. The pair confessed their cheeky game after their mic recordings were played back on the spin-off show.
What, how, and why?
Borthwick and Tsiakkas performed a romantic Viennese Waltz in week one of the competition, scoring 23 out of 40 from the judges.
It Take Two host Fleur East told them: "Now here It Takes Two we like to listen in on your mic. We like to intrude. Let's have a listen to this." During the replay of their pair's Viennese Waltz, Borthwick can be heard exclaiming: "You smell of garlic!" Tsiakkas revealed: "In the most romantic moment of the dance he decided to tell me I smell like garlic."
Borthwick explained: "We'd had this thing during the week in our rehearsal, a silly joke. We had garlic bread and so we'd been burping in each other's faces all week, so we're like, 'You smell like garlic. And so she said, 'Oh, you gotta say it on the thing. But you watch now the mic-ed up thing every week, for as long as we're here, there's going to be something good on our mics."

What else happened on It Takes Two?
Borthwick, 30, admitted that Christmas Strictly is much easier than the real series. The soap star - known for playing Jay Brown in Albert Square - won Christmas Strictly 2023 with pro dancer Nancy Xu, dancing a festive Quickstep.
But Borthwick said on It Takes Two: "To be honest, it's nothing like it actually. Me and Nancy had a jolly up for two weeks. Well, not even two weeks, a week-and-a-half, it was great. We worked hard on our routine, obviously, but we knew it was like light, for Christmas, and it was a bit just different.
"But now this is - I've been humbled. Especially this week, 'cause we've had only half the week, it's not even five days. It's five days, it's four days and with all the other stuff we have to do VTs if I I've had a filming day [at EastEnders] this week."
Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two at 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One at 6.15pm on Saturday.
