Streaker starts crowdfunding page to pay for fine
A cheeky carpenter who was fined for streaking at a suburban football match has started a crowdfunding page to cover the cost – and it’s gaining serious support.
Melbourne’s Lucas Garth says his only regret is choosing the coldest part of the afternoon to get his kit off.
After a few beers at a local football grand final in Frankston, Mr Garth decided to show off more than just his fancy footwork.
The idea to strip down and streak didn’t come with a lot of planning.
“All I had was entry strategy, I didn’t have an exit strategy,” he admitted.
“You should have heard the laughter and the cheering and the clapping and everything.”
The 33-year-old managed to give security the slip for a whole lap of the oval until one caught him from behind.
He was slapped with a $900 fine, but a crowdfunding page almost has it covered.
Anything raised above $900 will be donated to a close family friend who recently lost her husband.
“They need it a million times more than I do,” Mr Garth said.
Reflecting back on his bold move, he said there isn’t a lot he would change.
“I wish it was a bit warmer to be honest, that would’ve helped me out a lot,” he said.
It’s been an unforgettable few weeks for the carpenter. Along with his memorable nudie run, he also now has a fiancé.
“She is a brave woman, she called me crazy for proposing but I think she’s the crazy one getting married to the Frankston Streaker.”
