A stray dog managed to have a bit of fun at the zoo when it somehow ended up in the gorilla enclosure.
The gorilla and dog had somewhat of an intense stand-off in the enclosure at San Diego Zoo Safari Park in California on Sunday.
In the video, two gorillas are seen in the enclosure, while the stray appears to be quite content running around.
The ordeal was captured on video and shared on social media. At the start of the video, the dog is seen running the length of the enclosure, followed closely by one gorilla, while another holds back.
People are heard exclaiming in the video, expressing concern for the dog and trying to get him to go down the steps, promising treats.
However, the edges closer toward one of the gorillas and starts trotting away. The gorilla then charges after him.
"That thing is fast," one person is heard saying in the video.
In another clip taken at the zoo, it appears the gorilla and dog continued to run around as the crowd watched on.
The video ends with the dog going down the stairs in the enclosure and someone, presumably staff from the zoo, is seen in the enclosure trying to distract the gorilla.
Staff were on hand and moved the gorilla so officers from the San Diego County Humane Society could get the dog out, NBC San Diego reported.
Pictures shared by the Humane Society show an officer with him inside the enclosure and the dog appears to be quite content.
The dog, a male shepherd, is a stray and has no microchip, so the Humane Society is trying to search for his owner.
At the shelter, the dog has been given the name "Might Joe Young" and he is reportedly doing well and no animal or human was hurt during the incident at the zoo.
Another video shared by the Humane Society showed a happy Mighty Joe Young while he was checked out by the vet.
However, in the video someone is heard saying he has a "bunch of ticks", which were removed and he was given flea medication and a few vaccines.
"They removed some ticks, provided him with flea meds and vaccines.
While it appears Mighty Joe Young managed to sneak into the zoo, it is unknown how he got into the gorilla enclosure.
