Store’s unusual Valentine’s Day meal leaves internet in hysterics

Lovers are being encouraged to celebrate Valentine’s Day – by sharing a heart shaped sausage meal.

British chain store Marks and Spencer is calling it the Love Sausage.

The 460g sausage, which is wrapped bacon and described as “lightly truffled”, costs about $9 AUD and could feed at least two people.

But never mind the price – shoppers can’t get over how M&S has called it a “love sausage”, with hundreds of people already reacting to the meal on social media.

Some were quite shocked by the suggestive name of the dish, with one person saying it was “all kinds of wrong.”

“I had to double check that said M&S and not M&B. #MillsandBoon,” a Twitter user commented.

“It’s hard to imagine anything more romantic,” a third person wrote.

“Hi, I just asked a colleague at work if they wanted a bite of this product and everything has escalated so quickly I have an HR disciplinary at 2. Any chance you can get me some representation because of this innuendo filled product?” another person wrote.

But some were left “giggling” by the post, and a person even called it the “Tweet. Of. The. Week.”

The Love Sausage went on sale on February 8 and will be available until the 14th.

The store recommends cooking two eggs in the middle of the heart-shaped banger for a romantic breakfast.
