Stores drop their Christmas stock early - here's where to shop

Looking to start celebrating the festive season early this year? These shops have you covered!
Retailers including Bunnings, Big W, Kmart, Kogan and Amazon have all started stocking Christmas decorations, advent calendars, food and lights.
And while some think it may be a tad too early to see Christmas puddings on shelves, others are embracing the fun of the festive season early.
Shoppers have taken to social media to spread the word on where they’ve seen popular Christmas stock and they’re already in a frenzy to get their hands on it.
“OMG. Let’s have the most celebrated Christmas ever this year,” one person wrote about the Big W Christmas stock release.
“Time to start Christmas light shopping!” added another on a post about Bunnings Christmas lights.
Lights available at Bunnings
Bunnings have a Christmas range of lights available throughout the year, but other Christmas stock has started to drop in some stores.
Shoppers have spotted lights, including Christmas bungalow solar LED torch lights and giant dancing Santa statues. But they are already being snapped up fast.
“I work for a Bunnings and there’s literally pallets at the store to be opened for Christmas. They’re aiming for the end of September to have everything out,” a Bunnings employee revealed on the Facebook page Christmas Mums Australia.
Last year, some customers said they were left disappointed when stock ran out, so this year they hoped to get in early.
“I used to work at Bunnings. It’ll be soon,” added another former Bunnings staffer.
“Then they sell out quickly. One of my biggest pet peeves is they sell them all out, then through November and December we would have people coming in for lights we didn’t have.”
Kmart advent calendars
Kmart’s popular advent calendars that offer up mini toys instead of chocolate have already hit stores.
“My boys loved this last year!” one shopper said while another added: “omg need to find one!”
This year the store has a range of Barbie calendars for $35 including the popular Barbie Colour reveals calendar for $49 and a Hot Wheels calendar.
There’s also a huge range of Lego calendars ranging between $39 and $45 including Star Wars, Avengers and Harry Potter advent calendars.

While the popular calendars are already flying off shelves, there’s no word yet on when Christmas stock will hit stores.
Online, shoppers have spotted the odd Christmas decoration, but the full line isn’t expected to drop until November.
Big W announces Christmas launch date
Meanwhile, Big W has announced they’ll be launching all of their Christmas stock online from September 23.
Giving shoppers a sneak peek online, the store announced they would have four themes this year, including Classic, Sorbet, Parisian and Ornate.
Ornaments across the themes range from $2 to $6 and there’s a huge range of Christmas lights and inflatables available from $25 to $99.
Costco Christmas launches online
Bulk retailer Costco has also just launched their popular giant Christmas trees online along with a range of Disney ornaments and hampers.
In stores across New South Wales, shoppers have spotted a light-up Disney Christmas House which also plays Christmas carols.
The popular item which retails for $165 flew off shelves last year and is expected to be popular again this year.
Wrapping paper and giant festive-themed ribbons have also been spotted in stores.
Ordering online
If you still can't wait until stores drop their full Christmas range, you can easily order online with some online stores offering pre-orders across their range.
Adairs has dropped a small range online including festive botanical table runners and table settings.
Amazon has a range of Christmas cushions, Christmas garlands and lights.
Kogan is also offering discounts across the popular Jingle Jolleys Christmas tree range with the popular Jingle Jollys Christmas Tree 1.8M 6FT Snowy Green for $82.76.
Meanwhile, stores like Gameology have Christmas games available for pre-order including Elf Monopoly and 12 Games of Christmas.
