Steamy real estate ad goes viral for looking 'like the start to a bad porno'

A rather unorthodox real estate listing that went viral online has both amused and deeply confused many viewers.

The listing for the Sydney property has been described as looking “like the intro to a bad porn video” and featured a video with highly suggestive dancing, uncoordinated swimming, walking on-table tops and pounding dance music.

The video for the four-bedroom house in south western Sydney was spotted on Realestate.com on Wednesday morning and quickly shared on Twitter, much to the delight and horror of others.

By the afternoon though, the video was stripped from both the real estate listing and YouTube.

On Twitter the video received a thorough roasting as well as meticulous commentary, being called “so breathtakingly horrific that it borders on art” and “the most Real Estate Agent video I have ever seen”.

Others were more confused by the layout of the house which had the dining room looking directly into the bathroom and the lounge room looking directly into the master-bedroom.

There is also a swimming pool that runs past the ensuite of the master bedroom.

“Never mind the video, the house’s layout looks like it was a student project,” quipped one person, while another pointed out: “omg the swimmer can watch someone wee”.

Despite the online roasting and the viral video being removed from LJ Hooker’s official listing and their YouTube account, the property’s real estate agent told Guardian Australia “it was supposed to be funny”.

“I just wanted to do something different in the industry, and it really, really worked,” Sam Nader from LJ Hooker Bankstown said. “I did one for a house in Illawong and it broke the record for the area. $3,205,000, sold before auction.

“Video gets attraction to the property, and the whole point of real estate is to get as many eyes as possible on the property. It was supposed to be funny. Whether it’s funny, it’s rude or its sexy, every video I do is different.”

However, a statement released by LJ Hooker on behalf of their Bankstown branch said they were “always looking for new ways to market our listings — however, this time we missed the mark”.

“We understand that our recent video circulated on social media promoting one of our listings may have been taken out of context by some and for this we apologise”, the statement read. “We have removed the video from our digital and social media channels.”

Within the hour of it being removed from LJ Hooker’s official accounts though, the video for 42 Chamberlain Road, Padstow, was being shared by another YouTube channel with commentary “it’s dancing time!”.

Within four hours it had attracted nearly 9,000 views.
