A Japan Airlines aircraft taxiing at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) “appeared” to have struck the tail of a stationary Delta plane on Wednesday, February 5, according to airport authorities.The statement from SEA noted that there were no injuries and minimal disruption to airport operations, as the incident occurred on a taxi lane.In a statement to KING News, Delta said “While in sequence for deicing, the tail of a Delta 737 aircraft reportedly made contact with a wing tip of another airline’s aircraft. There are no reports of injuries for crew or customers on the flight, and we apologize for the experience and delay in travels.”The Federal Aviation Administration said some flights were temporarily paused as a result of the incident.Footage from Delta passenger Jackie Patton, who told Storyful she filmed after passengers and crews disembarked the Delta aircraft, shows a piece of the Japan Airlines’ wing embedded into the Delta plane’s tail.“About 45 minutes earlier, we were sitting on the plane, waiting for takeoff when there was a loud crash and the plane shook. It was scary,” Patton told Storyful. “Pilot confirmed minutes later the plane behind had hit us.”Delta passengers were eventually moved to a different plane and were able to begin their journey toward Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, according to Patton and a flight-tracking website.
