Sophia Loren: I don't plan to retire

Sophia Loren doesn't have any plans to retire.

The 90-year-old actress still loves working and despite her age, Sophia doesn't have any intention of walking away from the movie industry.

The veteran film star - who is one of the last surviving major stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema - told Deadline: "I don’t want to think about legacy. I want to think about my next movie.

"I’ll think of legacy once I retire and I hope never to retire."

Sophia has never had a career "plan B" and the actress has insisted she doesn't take "the easy way out", either.

The 'Two Women' star explained: "The secret is never to have a plan B so that when you are faced with an obstacle you find insurmountable, you don’t end up taking the easy way out, you take a deep breath, push on and find the right solution to your problem as you have no choice but to move forward. No Plan Bs, only a Plan A."

Sophia became a global sex symbol in the 1950s - but the actress never actually gave it much thought.

She said: "Frankly, being a sex symbol has never defined me, I am who I am.

"I am not naive, I am aware of the fact that some people respond to me in such a way but I’ve never given it much thought.

"What I have given much thought to has always been being true to my craft and being part of stories that can move and inspire people, and in that respect, Hollywood has always been a great source of inspiration for me. The craft and pursuit of excellence is the currency of the people in this city. It is both aspirational and inspirational."
