SNAPSHOT OF VICTORIA'S CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK:

NEW CASES

* 1143 new locally acquired cases, almost 300 fewer than reported on Thursday

* Three deaths: a man in his 80s from Hume, a woman in her 70s from Alphington, and a man in his 70s from Moreland

* Death toll from the current outbreak: 44

* 395 people in hospital, of whom 87 are in intensive care, including 59 on a ventilator

* Total active cases: 10,944

* Of the latest cases in metropolitan Melbourne:

- there are hundreds in the north, including 243 in Hume, 83 in Whittlesea, 49 in Moreland, 21 in Darebin and 24 in Yarra

- in the west, there are 55 in Melton, 54 in Wyndham, 70 in Brimbank, 23 in Hobsons Bay, and 37 in the Moonee Valley

- in the southeast, there are 41 in Casey and 25 in Greater Dandenong

- in the east, there are 11 in Knox and nine in the Yarra Ranges

* 62 cases in regional Victoria, including: 12 in the Mitchell Shire (four under investigation), 12 in Shepparton (five under investigation), and six in Moorabool

* 62,883 COVID-19 test results were processed on Thursday

VACCINATIONS

* 34,935 COVID-19 vaccine doses on Thursday at state-run hubs

* 80.9 per cent of Victorians have received their first COVID-19 jab, while 50.2 per cent are double-vaccinated

EXPOSURE SITES

* More than 610, including Westfield Geelong and multiple early learning centres.
