SNAPSHOT OF VICTORIA'S CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK:

NEW CASES

* 2179 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19

* 55 per cent of these cases are in new households

* Six deaths were reported on Friday:

- Man in his 80s from Brimbank

- Man in his 80s from Darebin

- Man in his 80s from Boroondara

- Woman in her 80s from Moreland

- Woman in her 80s from Hume

- Woman in her 50s from Moonee Valley

* Death toll from the current outbreak: 131

* Of the latest cases in metropolitan Melbourne:

- 616 cases in the south-eastern suburbs

- 669 cases in the western suburbs

- 585 cases in the northern suburbs

- 100 cases in the eastern suburbs

* 193 of new cases are in regional Victoria, including:

- 28 in Geelong

- 26 in Shepparton

- 34 in Mildura, Robinvale and Swan Hill

- 21 in Latrobe

- 20 in Baw Baw

* Total active cases: 21,324, including 1418 in regional Victoria

* 73,942 test results were processed on Thursday

VACCINATIONS

* 38,752 vaccines administered at state-run hubs in Victoria on Thursday

* 87.62 per cent of the 16-plus population have had a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 63.81 per cent a second dose

* Between 91 and 95 per cent of Victorians aged over 40 have had one dose of a vaccine

HOSPITALISATIONS

* 695 people in hospital, 157 of whom are in intensive care, including 101 on a ventilator

* 87 per cent of people hospital with COVID-19 are unvaccinated.
