Man filmed allegedly kicking 'dying' owl in Snapchat video

A disturbing Snapchat video showing a man allegedly kicking an owl has emerged and prompted a RSPCA investigation.

The video, provided to Yahoo News Australia by RSPCA Queensland, shows what is reportedly an owl in the middle of a poorly-lit road.

A man is seen walking up to the owl and bends over to have a closer look at the animal.

He then swings his leg back and appears to kick the bird, which goes flying into the air.

The man is then seen running back towards the vehicle from where the video appears to have been filmed.

“RSPCA approved,” the caption on the Snapchat video reads with a green tick emoji at the end.

The RSPCA clearly does not approve of this kind of behaviour and a media spokesperson for the animal welfare group confirmed to Yahoo News Australia they were investigating the incident.

It is unclear whether the animal in the video was injured.

The person who uploaded the video then defended their actions on Snapchat, according to 7News.

“It flew infront (sic) of the car and was slowly dying ... we weren't just gonna leave it,” the post said.

A second post by the same person said “I know you laughed”.
