Following the formation of SuperM back in August 2019, which features members of SHINee, EXO, and NCT, SM Entertainment announced a new girl group in a similar style on Monday (27 December). The first group under the new project Girls On Top (GOT), which features female SM Entertainment artists joining forces for different units, is named GOT the beat.

GOT the beat consists of seven members: BoA, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Wendy, and Aespa’s Karina and Winter. The group will hold a special performance on 1 January 2022 at SMTOWN’s upcoming free online concert. They will also be releasing their first song on 3 January at 6pm (KST). The song will be a hip hop and R&B track titled Step Back.

Fans are already stoked about the new girl group:

“Omg I’m crying.”

“Let’s go girls!”

“Here we go ladies!”

“Yeah let’s go, just take my money.”

“I’m so looking forward to this!”

“Show them ladies!”

Despite it being only a few days since their launch, their social media accounts have already seen incredible growth. Check them out for yourself: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter.
