Slippery customer filmed slithering through city, scaring pedestrians

A brown snake has been caught on camera slithering through the heart of Adelaide, startling walkers as they strolled along the River Torrens.

Snake experts are calling for more signage near city paths and are warning the public to be extra cautious in the warmer weather.

“They’ll sit on a pathway which is warm, and when it gets too warm they’ll just go off to the side, especially near the Torrens and near waterways,” snake catcher Rudy Della-Flora said.

The snake catching expert had some timely advice on what to do if you see a snake.

“Don’t harass it, leave it alone, don’t poke sticks at it, don’t try to catch it,” Mr Della-Flora said.
