Skye shooting accused goes on trial for murder
A man has gone on trial at the High Court in Edinburgh accused of murdering his brother-in-law at his home on Skye.
Finlay MacDonald, 41, is accused of shooting 47-year-old John MacKinnon in August 2022.
He is also accused of attempting to murder his wife Rowena MacDonald on the island, and attempting to murder a couple - Fay and John MacKenzie - at a property in Dornie on the mainland on the same day.
Mr MacDonald denies the charges and has lodged a special defence that he was impaired by abnormality of mind. The trial continues.
