A six-storey residential and commercial building has collapsed in the central Chinese metropolis of Changsha.
Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reported on Friday that rescue workers were able to find survivors in the rubble.
However, no numbers were given.
There was initially no information on casualties or fatalities.
It was also unclear how many people were in the 700-square-metre building at the time of the accident.
According to the broadcaster, the building housed a hotel, a restaurant and flats.
The rescue work was still ongoing.
