Six people, including a child, have been rescued and taken to hospital after two boats collided in Rotterdam, the emergency services in the Dutch city says.

A water taxi and a tour boat collided under the Erasmus Bridge near the city centre.

The six people in the water taxi - the captain and five passengers - fell overboard, according to the authorities.

Emergency services were quickly at the scene and were able to rescue everyone.

A video showed that the water taxi passed diagonally under the bridge and ended up in front of the bow of the other ship.

The much smaller taxi was rammed and sank.
