The sinister story behind the burn marks on this baby change table

A concerned mum has taken to social media to warn other parents about dangers they may be unaware of when changing their baby at public facilities.

Jessica Wayman, from Indiana, US, shared a damning image of a baby changing table inside a public bathroom covered in black burn marks.

“See the black marks? Those are from burnt spoons,” she wrote.

“Addicts use these as tables while they shoot up. There could be residue from heroin/meth whatever, and other harmful bodily fluids.”

Ms Wayman revealed she knew what the marks were as she was a recovering addict herself and that she felt she needed to warn others.

“If someone doesn’t care about themselves, I can promise you, they aren’t thinking about your kids. Be cautious,” she said.

The young woman advised parents to wipe the surfaces down before placing a cover over the table in a bid to avoid contact with any hidden dangers.

“Before putting your babies anywhere near these things, ALWAYS wipe them down first. Even if you are in a hurry, even if you have a blanket to lay down,” she said.

Ms Wayman’s post on Sunday has since resonated with parents across the globe, with hundreds thanking her for her words of warning.

“Thanks for sharing. I would have never known,” one mother wrote.

The post has so far been shared over 98,000 times.

“I made this post in the first place, to warn all the unsuspecting parents who would never think something like this when looking at a changing table,” she said.

The little known claim comes after a ‘sexuality expert’ outlandishly suggested parents shouldn’t even be changing their children’s nappies if they don’t have consent to do so.
